Congress Theme 2027

"Tradition Meets Tomorrow"

Advancing Home Economics for a Sustainable and Digital Future

In the 21st century, the world is facing complex and interwoven challenges—from climate change and food insecurity to rapid technological transformation and social inequities.

The theme highlights the urgent need to integrate traditional wisdom with innovative approaches. Home economics, rooted in the stewardship of family, community, and resources, holds immense potential to address the challenges through sustainable living practices and the adoption of digital tools.

This theme acknowledges the enduring value of traditional knowledge—such as food preservation, textile crafts, and community-based caregiving—while calling for adaptation and innovation in response to the digital age.
